I forgot...

I just finished the videos down below, but I forgot to tell you all that next Saturday 4/25 Callie is getting tubes put in her ears. We've really struggled with the decision, but she has just had one ear infection after another and both the pediatrician and the ENT specialist think it's our best bet. She'll be put under for about 5-10 minutes (which is definitely the part that freaks me out the most), and then it's a super fast procedure, during which they put a 1mm tube in each ear. These will help drain the fluid in her ear, and will hopefully decrease the number of ear infections she's been having. It should also help with speech/languarge development (which is part of what really sold us on the procedure). The tubes will stay in for 12-18 mos, but the ENT doctor said they could fall out before that (and that we wouldn't even know).

We have to be at the hospital super early in the morning, but she can't eat or drink anything first, so that will be a major challenge. We're told that after a couple hours in the recovery room, we should be able to come home and that she'll be crabby for that day, but then okay after that. Soooo that's the latest... pretty please think good thoughts for Callie next Saturday.

Callie doesn't watch much TV, but she WISHES she watched a whole lot more. She always gets the remote and brings it over, pointing it to the TV. When that doesn't work, she brings us the remote, then runs away to go climb up in her chair. She only watches a couple shows, but her absolute favorite is Yo Gabba Gabba. If you haven't seen it, you're missing the weirdest show on television. Seriously, it's BIZARRE. Anyway, as soon as I turn on the TV she's completely into it, and at the beginning of every episode, the guy says "Yoooooooooo Gabba Gabba!!" She gets o excited every time!

A little more blabbling... she still doesn't say a lot of actual words, and the doctor said she might just be the kid who doesn't feel the need to, but that hopefully she will by 18 mos. If not, the doc plans to make a speech referral, so we'll see! Anyway, here she is chatting away while doing laundry. NOTHING makes this kid happier than laundry... and if you give her TWO baskets to move everything back and forth, you're her hero.

You've probably seen a roller coaster video before, but now she's big enough to ride it all by herself... very exciting. :)
